I’m thinking of assembling a picnic basket for Saturday. This is a tentative list of things:
In the cooler:
Egg Salad
Chicken Salad
Tuna Salad
Potato Salad
Sliced Tomatoes
Sliced Cucumber
Shredded Lettuce
Mayo
Hummus
Cheese Singles
Out of the cooler:
Crisped Bacon
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Brownies
Pita Bread
White Bread
I figure drinks and such, we can buy. Sound good?
Ryan will show up in the afternoon and bring a fresh supply of lemonade (and/or other drinks that’ll still be semi-cold).
How are we splitting the cost of all this food?

We should also have pickles. Anything’s better with pickles. Yes, even ice-cream.
I volunteer to pick up a selection of buns and such, from a Chinese bakery if I can, otherwise from the pricier Japanese bakery under Sunrise Mart. (Curry bun, yum!) That way, Sam won’t need to pack a gigantic cooler that’d have to be hauled around all day to feed everyone. I would love to grab dim sum, but don’t think there’s any way to coordinate it.
I don’t know…no brownies and no cookies?
grin…. know what I did? I gave up on the cooler-needed food, and just made cookies and brownies
Now that’s more like it. Even though I can’t eat the food, I feel better knowing cookies and brownies have prevailed.
I almost went into a sugar coma that day.
